Helford Creek Apple Juice and Cyder wins
‘The Best Drinks Producer’ in the Cornwall Life Food and Drink Awards
Helford Creek Apple Juice and Cyder won ‘The Best Drinks Producer’ in the
Cornwall Life Food and Drink Awards which took place recently.
They celebrated their award with lunch at The Carbis bay Hotel last Thursday, along with other award winning Food Producers.
The event was sponsored by Knight Frank and Pangaea TV. They were presented with ‘The Best Drinks Producer’ award as voted for by the readers of The Cornwall Life Magazine.
Jem Trewhella of Helford Creek says:
"This award means so much to us as it is the result of public votes. They are the ones who are so important to us and to receive their approval is insurmountable.
We are just over the moon with this award and it is a great honour to have received it."

Special-label edition juices for Mad Hatters Tea Parties! 
We have produced Apple Juice; Apple & Raspberry Juice and Apple & Pear Juice as custom-labelled bottles made for sale from March 3rd, at Anthony House, the National Trust location where "Alice in Wonderland" was filmed. Anthony House celebrates with a wonderland of events and tea parties.
Working with Anthony House's team our juices will be available for visitors celebrating Tim Burton's version of Lewis Carroll's novel, filmed on location at the National Trust property.

Fit For a Princess - opening of the watersports centre at Stithians Lake
A hamper of quality Cornish produce was presented to HRH the Princess Royal
on her visit to Cornwall on the 3rd May to open the new £1 million watersports centre
at Stithians Lake. The basket contained a range of goodies from well known producers such as
Rhoddas, Roskillys, Helford Creek and Cornish Chilli Company.

Cornish Apples - Apple Day at Kehelland Horticultural centre
Take 106 varieties of apple, add a selection of prize winning jams and chutneys then mix in ciders,
scrumpies and apple juices made at Cornish farms. Blend together to create a recipe for success at Apple Day,
a celebration of the Fruit that was staged at Kehelland Horticultural Centre near Cambourne at the weekend.
Scores of people visited the exhibition...
Manning one of the stands was Jem Trewhella, whose Helford Creek apple juice has recently gone on sale
in Harrods, London.
"Because we are not a massive company, we take great care producing this juice using only the best apples." he said.
"Harrods are doing a promotion of British foods, and I've just returned from doing tasting sessions there.It's nice to have
recognition for the quality of our aplle juice which is sold all over Cornwall in delicatessens, cafes, restaurants, hotels
and National Trust houses."

First food exhibition staged at Houses of Parliament
Cornish food and drink gets the vote
Taste of the West manager Carole Trewin said:
"We know that Cornwall has an excellent reputation for its food and drink so we were
pleased to have the opportunity to demonstrate the range and quality of the goods
produced in Cornwall"
Among the businesses involved were were Boddington Berries, Falmouth Bay Oysters
Helford Creek Apple Juice, Roddas, Roskillys, Food from Cornwall, Skinners, WC Rowe.
Taste of the West promotes the development of of the regional food and drink industry,
while Made in Cornwall identifies genuine Cornish goods through the use of a distinctive logo.

You don't have to be big to be a winner, as the results of the Royal Cornwall Show Food and
Farming awards - also known as the Cornish Food Oscars - showed.
Category winners included:
- Best new product - Hugh Eddy, Davas Cornish Ewes milk yoghurt
- Best product presentation - Toppenhouse Dairy for St Keverne Cheese
- Best Newcomer - Jem and Sarah Trewhella, Helford Creek for their 'Simply natural Apple Juice'
